The plans illustrate how Grange Park appeared when it first opened in 1920 and its current state today.
In 1920, the park featured two main entrances, one from Arnold Avenue and another from Eldon Street. There was a stage for musicians located on the west side and a fountain in the center of the park. The north side housed a pond for water plants, while the east side included a glasshouse. Additionally, the park boasted two rose gardens and numerous seating areas scattered throughout.
Today, the park has undergone significant changes. The musicians’ stage has been transformed into an amphitheater for concerts. The fountain has been replaced by a rose garden, and the pond has been redesigned into a water feature. The glasshouse has been turned into a café, and a children’s play area has been introduced. Furthermore, a new entrance has been created for an underground car park.
Overall, the park now offers more facilities compared to its original design in 1920, with an emphasis on entertainment and convenience.
