The given plans illustrate how Porth Harbour has changed since the year 2000.

Overall Porth Harbour has gone through some significant changes while shifting towards tourism from a fishing based area. Existing fascilities remaining the same, new tourist attractions and fascilities have been introduced to turn the place into a more tourism oriented destination.

Looking from west to east, the two car parks have remained in their original locations while another shower and toilet block has been constructed beside the second car park. The Marina for private yachts and the fishing boats swapped their locations, with the former moving northeast and the latter southwest. Moving to the east another dock has been added to the existing one.

Further east, cafe’s and shops have been added and the disused castle on the southeast has been turned into a hotel for the tourists. The public beach on the south has been turned into a private beach restricted to the hotel guests.

Thus, Porth Harbour has gradually transformed into travel destination while retaining it’s traditinal maritime functions.
