The diagram below shows the site of a farm called “Beechwood” in 1950 and the same site today.
Overall, it is clear that the farm has expanded with many additional facilities including parking, solar panels, holiday cottages, barn and a farm shop.
In 1950, half of the area was used by sheep. The area across the river is empty, only the one side of the river is used by beechwood farm. The left portion at the junction of the track consist of fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables, whereas the right side consist of a large barn, farmhouse and chickens.
In today’s diagram, The tracks are converted into road. The field for sheep is separated for two different purpose including one for camping and another side for solar panels both the fields have separate parking. Barn is replaced by a holiday cottage and moved to the end of the road’s junction. A new farm shop is constructed inside the area of the fruit trees. While the other side of the river remained same as it was in 1950.
To conclude, the diagram shows the drastic expansion of beechwood farm as compared to 1950 except the chickens, vegetables, farmhouse and soft fruits
