Overall. It is clear that staying with family and camping were the most popular accommodations for people who go on holiday, although the figures of both saw a decline. In contrast, although people using hotels and rented apartments had a lower percentage during the period, hotels and rented apartments attracted more people in the next few years.
In 1988, people staying with family accounted for the biggest proportion among 4 different accommodations (52%), before witnessing a fall, at 44% in 2008, still maintaining the first rank. Followed by camping, initially its percentage started at 26%. A decade later, it decreased a second compared to the previous figure at 13% and then dropped to 12% in 2008.
Looking at the 2 remaining accommodations, renting apartments was the least attractive option, at just 7% in the first year. 10 years later, this figure increased to 11% and continued to triple at the end of the period.
