The pie charts illustrate the proportion of students participating in different courses at an adult education centre in 1985 and this year. Overall, it is readily apparent that modern languages including French, German and Spanish were the most popular subjects for students in 1985, the opposite was true for music appreciation. Notably, while this year witnessed the most students joining IT, the reverse pattern could be observed in art.
In 1985, modern languages accounted for 24% of the total students, which is the highest figure among other courses. This was followed by the percentage of students taking part in fitness and dance, at 22%. Meanwhile, the quantity of students in art, cookery and local history made up below a fifth of the total. In addition, music appreciation had the lowest student, at just 8%.
In this year, IT is the most common subject among the remaining courses, at 27%. The second most students joined in fitness and dance, at 22%, which is followed by the percentage of students who chose cookery, at under 20%. Moreover, modern languages and art experienced the same figure, at 17% and 15% respectively.
