The table and pie charts give information on the amount of police budgets coming from three different sources namely National Government, Local Taxes, and Other sources (in million pounds) and how the money was spent (in percent) in a certain area of Britain from 2017 to 2018.
Overall, it is evident from the table and charts that the National Government contributed the most on the Police Budget in both years, and it mainly spent on employees salaries.
Focusing on the table, it can be clearly seen that the total police budget in 2018 is higher than the previous year, with the National Government donating around 175 million pounds in 2017 and increased by approximately 2 million pounds one year later. Followed by Local Taxes, which accounted for 91 million pounds in 2017 and adding more by just over 10 million pounds in 2018. Finally, the remaining came from other sources (grants for example), which contributed around 38 million pounds in both years.
Moving on to the pie charts, in contrast, the budget largely spent on paying officers and staff, which accounted for a third quarter and fell by 6 percent in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Meanwhile, the money spent on technology was almost doubled, starting at 8 percent to 14 percent in 2018. The remaining budget was spent on buildings and transport with the same percentage.
