Overall, it can be observed that there is a larger labour force in the Small-scale local boats, compared to the large-scale. Besides, in the large-scale industrial ships, the costs of catches, jobs, and fuel are much higher than those of the small-scale sector.
In the large-scale industrial ships, the annual catch for food is 5 million tonnes more than that of the local boats, and for the industrial processing, it is around 22 million tonnes, while for local boats, almost no catches are considered. Moreover, the capital cost of each job in this industry is between 30,000 and 300,000 dollars, which is much higher than that of the local boats (250-2,500 dollars). In addition, from 14 to 19 million tonnes of oil are consumed in industrial ships as a fuel, which is higher than that of the boats (1.5-1.8 million tonnes).
In contrast, in small-scale local boats, there are more employees, with a number of around 12,000,000, which is 11,500,000 more than that of the large-scale industry.
