The table illustrates data about secondary school teachers’ annual salaries in five countries in 2009 and shows that Luxembourg’s figures were the highest among the countries given.
Looking at the figure in Luxembourg, the annual teachers’ salaries started at 80,000, which was 33,000 higher than the figure for Denmark. Australia was the third highest figure at 34,500, while Korea and Japan took fourth and fifth places at 30,500 and 28,000, respectively. Additionally, Luxembourg’s figure was the largest of the average salaries at 112,000, which was 54,000 and 59,400 far higher than those in Denmark and Korea, respectively. Meanwhile, Japan’s figure occupied the fourth position at 49,200 followed by Australia at 48,000.
In addition, regarding the maximum salaries, it was true that Luxembourg still recorded the highest figure again at 139,000 which would take 30 years to reach and followed by the second highest at 84,500 that took 37 years for Korea and Japan in third place took 34 years to reach 62,400. Meanwhile, Denmark registered the second lowest figure at 54,000 requiring 8 years, while Australia’s figure stood 6,000 lower taking one year longer.
