Overall, it is evident that cars were the most common transportation, also, there was a significant increase in the use of trains and taxis in both years, while the other types of transport carried the opposite pattern. Additionally, bicycles and motorcycles were the least popular throughout.
In 1977, cars were dominantly travelled by adults with an average distance of 3500 miles, followed by trains and buses with a noticeable gap compared to cars, 900 and 800 miles respectively. Simultaneously, people walked an average distance of 400 miles, double the number of miles travelled by taxis, while bicycles and motorcycles had the same measurement, at an average of 100 miles a year.
On the other hand, by 2007 cars had its average estimation as more than twice as the number of 1977, making it to 7100 miles and remaining the highest figure. Trains and taxis also had a similar trend of increase, while trains increased its number by 100 miles, taxis rose four times as much as the years of 1977, which is the highest expansion. In contrast, there was a reduction in travelled by bus and by foot, dropped by 300 and 100 miles respectively.Moreover, bicycles and motorcycles carried the tiniest gap through both years, just under 50 miles each.
