Overall, it is evident that the employment rates in social services namely health care, construction, education, and tourism experienced go-up trends. Meanwhile, the figure in the remaining industries witnessed a decline during the same time.
Standing at 15%, manufacturing workers had the percentage in 1989. By 2009, the figure saw a considerable decrease of over 5%. Meanwhile, retailers’ proportion dropped slightly from 11.8% to 10.1% in the same time frame.
Regarding rest fields, the percentage of employees working in health care services underwent a significant increase from 9.6% to over 11,7%, surpassing other industries in 2009. This also indicates that people are more conscious about their health and overall well-being. In the same trend, the the employment rates in construction and education experienced a slight rise by nearly 1%, to 813% and 7.5% in 2009 respectively. Conversely, there was a substantial increase in the figure for tourism from 55% to over 7% throughout this duration.
