The information on the percentage of national consumer spending on various items in five different countries in 2002 is demonstrated in the table.
Among five countries, turkish consumers spent the highest of their income on food, drinks, and tobacco. Similarly, Turkey spent more than any other countries do on leisure and education. Italian consumers were more used to spent on buying cloths and footwear that the others did.
In compliance with the other countries’ spending on food, drinks, tobacco, clothes, and footwear, swedish consumers were comparatively indifferent to these items. In the same way, spanish consumers expensed the lowest of their income on leisure and education.
To sum up, the total spending of Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey on the items given in the table ranged from almost 20% to 44% of their income. And, the average spendings on these three items are about 20%, 6%, and 3% respectively in 2002.
