The tabular data shows the statistics of area and demographics for the world’s six largest countries, i.e., Russia, Canada, USA, China, Brazil, and Australia in 2012.
Overall, Russia has the largest area followed by Canada, USA, China, Brazil and Australia, but the percentage of arable land is the most in USA and the least in Canada, whereas China has the largest population than any other country.
China covers about 9.6 m km^2 with 14.9 percent of arable land and has the largest population of about 1347.4 million people. USA occupies the same amount of area as China of which 18.0 percent land is cultivable and having about 1/4 th of the China’s total population, i.e., 317 million people, whereas Russia is the largest country of all having area of 17.1 m km^2 with 7.2 percent of area for agricultural needs and a population of 143.1 million people.
On the other hand, Canada is the second largest country occupying 10 m km^2 of area, which is occupied by only 35 million people, but having only 4.6 percent of arable land. Brazil occupies 8.5 m km^2 of area consisting of 7 percent arable land and a population of 192.4 million people, whereas Australia is the smallest of all with 7.7 m km^2 area providing home for only 23 million people and having a 6.2 percent of arable land.
