The table illustrates data on tourists visiting Vietnam in 2014, from eight different countries in terms of number, average length of stay and average money spent.
Overall, China had the highest number of tourists, while Australian visitors spent significantly more money than those from other countries. In terms of the visitor numbers, Korea ranked second with almost a million visitors, followed by Japan with just over half a million. The remaining countries recorded moderate numbers with only slight differences between them. Although their average length of stay was shorter than visitors from Australia, UK and USA, their average expenditure was among the highest. Although the length of stay and average money spent varied, the number of visitors from UK, Russia and Australia was relatively similar. Similarly, visitors from Japan, Korea, Australia and China had comparable length of stay with only minor variations.
In contrast, Cambodia had the lowest figures across all three categories with minimal visitor numbers, short stays and lowest expenditure.
