The table displays the information on tourists from eight different countries who visited Vietnam in 2014.
Overall, China had the highest number of tourists, but showed the lowest average expenditure per visitor. Although Australia had the fewest tourists, their average expenditure was the highest. It is also notable that Cambodia experienced the lowest numbers in each of the three categories among all countries.
In 2014, China had the highest number of people who visited Vietnam – almost a million and a half. The next highest numbers were recorded by Korea, Japan, and the United States, which accounted for just under a million, 571,000, and around 405,000, respectively. Among these four countries, American tourists had the highest spending, slightly more than $1,200. Japanese visitors, however, stayed in Vietnam the longest, with a duration of 11.3 days.
As for the remaining countries, the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, and Cambodia, had the fewest tourists – each of them around 200,000. Tourists from Russia stayed in Vietnam the longest among all eight countries with an average duration of 17.8 days, nearly triple that of the UK’s. Australia demonstrated the highest average expenditure of slightly under $1,900. In contrast, Cambodia not only had the lowest spending, but also recorded the lowest numbers in the rest of the categories.
