The table illustrates the amount of food (measured in grams) consumed by a single person in a week in a European country in three specific years 1992, 2002 and 2012.
Overall, it is clear that the quantities of vegetables, wheat, bean and cheese consumed per person weekly increased over the span of 20 years, with the exception of meat consumption which experienced a decline. In fact, vegetables emerged as being eaten the most, while a single person had cheese in a little portion during the given period.
In 1992, 2140 grams of vegetables were consumed per person, and this was followed by a considerable rise to 2220 grams in 2012. However, being the least favored product in all three years, cheese consumption, which stood at 113 grams in 1992, reached 125 grams after 10 years, and remained steady till 2012.
A stark change can be observed in the amount of meat, wheat, and beans over the given period. In terms of wheat and bean consumption, which started at 837 and 532 grams respectively, increased significantly, reaching 977 and 590 grams accordingly in 2012. However, the quantities of meat consumed per person rose from 1148 to 1211 grams, before dropping to 1132 grams by the end of the period (2012).
