The table given compares the proportions of tourists from different ages visiting preferred attractions in the city of Lorene on their last holiday.
Overall, the most popular destination across all the group was shopping centres except the group 31 – 40. While young people were excited about entertainment venues such as discotheques, night clubs, older people were interested in cultural and educational attractions such as art galleries and zoos.
Among the youngest tourists, young people between the ages of 21 and 30 showed a strong preference for going shopping with over 90%, while indoor entertainment venues such as cinemas, theatres came second with 83%. As age increases, interest in going to shopping malls decreases slightly in the group 31 – 40. Reaching the first position were cinemas and theatres account for 85%. The percentage of visitors of museums remained the lowest among these groups.
Moving on to the older age categories, the pattern changed noticeably, with a clear shift from nightlife and entertainment to more relaxing or artistic destinations. Shopping centres remained popular across the people over 41 years old, especially people over 51 years old with the highest percentage at 95%. A number of people who were enjoy night clubs and discotheques saw a significant drop, replaced by art galleries and museums.
