The table above depicts how the American adult population dedicate their free time on the internet for relaxation, exhibiting four different alternatives for four different age intervals: watch videos online, listen to music online, play online games, and chat with friends, between the ages 18 to 29, 30 to 49, 50 to 64, and over 65.
Overall, it is clear that chatting with friends in the least popular option through all age intervals, with 40%, 21%, 11% and 8% respectively. Whereas, watching videos online is generally the most common one, excluding the ages over 65, in which playing online games take the first position. Additionally, it is evident that the usage of internet for relaxation decrease in a disproportional way alongside age; a greater age conveys a decline in internet utilization.
Furthermore, in ages from 18 to 29, listening to music is almost as popular as watching videos online, with 73% and 74% respectively. Meanwhile, in the following three age intervals, this percentages show a progressive decline, with 52% and 58% in ages from 30 to 49, 31% and 37% in ages from 50 to 64, and lastly, 25% and 26% in ages over 65.
