The given table depicts the number of visitors from five different countries to Australia between 1991 and 1999.
Generally speaking, most tourists tended to visit the United States, the United Kingdom, and Other Europe, whereas the number of visitors coming from Canada and Germany was not as high as the three former countries. Additionally, Canada consistently had the lowest figures on the chart over the eight years.
This analysis will first examine the dominant countries in attracting visitors. Regarding the United States, there was a significant upward trend from 259 thousand to 393 thousand. At the same time, the United Kingdom witnessed a notable increase from 258 thousand in 1991 to 509 thousand by 1999, becoming the highest on the chart by the end of the period. Concurrently, the number of tourists visiting Other Europe rose by approximately 217 thousand, from 172 thousand to 389 thousand over the eight years.
Attention will now shift to the two remaining countries with fewer visitors. In Canada, the number of tourists experienced moderate development, settling at 75 thousand, which was the lowest figure by the end. Germany, whose initial figure was 75 thousand, saw a twofold increase compared to the data in 1991, reaching 140 thousand by the end of the period.
