The following table illustrates the local production and number of imports of fresh fish, in Perth, Australia from the year 2004-2014.
Overall, in some years the local production boomed while in others the need for import increased.
The number of total production in the year 2004 was more than 4 times of the imports. from the year 2004-2008 the amount of import was well under a thousand metric tons importing the lowest in 2005 which was just 231.6 metric tons however, domestic production peaked during these time period, producing 8136.2 metric tons in 2008
From 2009-2014 domestic production had a slight drop where imports on the other hand started to rise topping at 1227.3 metric tons which was also the highest among all. 2009 also saw the highest number of total which was a staggering 8949 metric tons. with the exeption of 2014 the import rates were significantly higher than local production.
