In both nations, the percentage of adult literacy rate was the same, at 99 percent.
Turning to the remaining nations, Peru and Zaire lagged far behind in all socio-economic measures. Peru’s annual income per person was 160 USD, with a life expectancy of 51 years, compared to Zaire’s 130 USD and 47 years respectively. Daily calorie intake in Peru reached about 2,000, exceeding Zaire’s 1,800. In adult literacy rate while the other three countries recorded over 65%, Zaire’s rate was just 34%.
