The table illustrates the typical income of males and females working in various types of jobs per week in 2015. It is noticeable that in all kinds of work, men earned more than women.
As can be seen, men’s average salaries were over $1000 in every occupation. Professionals earned $2000 a week, and it was the highest amount of all. The second highest group was technicians, with an average weekly income of $1400. Next were service workers, whose standard salaries were $1300 per week, and clerical workers, with an average income of $1350. In addition, manual laborers earned the least: $1100 a week on average.
Most of the female’s typical earnings were under $1000, except for professionals, with $1900 per week, and clerical workers, with exactly $1000 a week on average. Technicians earned $900 per week, $500 less than male technicians. Additionally, as with men, women manual laborers earned the least, with an average of $850 a week.
In summary, both men and women earned different amounts depending on their job, but women consistently earned less than men in similar occupations.
