To commence with, both in 2001 and in 2016 government was the most preferable field, since nearly 40 percent of lawyers choose to work in it. Furthermore, there was a plateau in choosing the business sector by male lawyers, but the portion of female lawyers choosing this field grew moderately from 14 percent to 21 percent by 2016.
Similarly, the percentage of private consulting rose moderately among both male and female groups from 15 percent to 19 percent and from 17 percent to 21 percent respectively. Despite similar growth in choosing other fields by male lawyers from 26 percent to 29 percent, there was a dramatic drop in the percentage of female lawyers choosing other fields from 28 percent to 16 percent.
