The table compares daily consumption of three grain food products – rice, wheat, and maize – measured in calories per person in four countries.
Overall, it can be seen that each country demonstrates a clear preference for a particular stable food. Cambodia consumes the most rice, Egypt and Poland rely primarily on wheat, while maize is the dominant grain in Mexico. Poland records the lowest total consumption of grain products.
More specifically, in terms of rice consumption Cambodia is by far the highest, at 1,445 calories per individual each day. This figure is almost three times higher than in Egypt, with 501 calories. In contrast, rice consumption in Poland and Mexico is minimal, at 19 and 57 calories respectively.
Looking at wheat, it is most heavily consumed in Egypt, where wheat accounts 1,095 calories per day, followed by Poland at 865 calories. Mexico consumes a moderate amount of wheat, while Cambodia has the lowest figure at just 18 calories.
Maize consumption is higher in Mexico at 1,083 calories. Egypt consumes about half this amount, Cambodia consumes relatively little, and Poland does not consume maize at all.
