The table presents the intake of three types of basic food – rice, wheat and maize – by the citizens of four different nations.
Overall, the data shows that dietary habits differ among the four nations, with each relying on a different staple food: Cambodia on rice, Poland on wheat, Mexico on maize, and Egypt mainly on wheat, though it also consumes a notable amount of the other two.
Regarding Cambodia and Egypt, Cambodia recorded the highest rice intake at 1445 calories per person per day, while Egypt followed with 501. In contrast, wheat intake in Cambodia was negligible at 18 calories, whereas in Egypt it was 1095, and maize consumption followed a similar pattern: just 103 calories in Cambodia compared to a substantial 578 calories in Egypt.
In comparison, Poland and Mexico consumed almost no rice, with only 19 and 57 calories respectively. Poland relied almost entirely on wheat at 865 calories with zero maize, while Mexico consumed the most maize at 1083 calories alongside a moderate 275 calories of wheat.
