The presented table shows information on how much money an average Australian family spent on five different categories over ten years. Overall, the monthly expenditure increased in the given time frame. To be more precise, the most notable rise can be seen in Electricity and Water.
Australians’ outlay on Electricity and Water increased significantly from 75$ to 120$ in the given period. The monthly budget for food and housing rose in the same amount by 5$, the former making up 160$ and the latter 100$ in 2001. In addition, Australian people started to spend more money on other goods and services, rising from 250$ to 270$.
As for the decreases, the most dramatic decline can be seen in the expenditure on transport, decreasing from 70$ to 45$. Interestingly, Australians were unenthusiastic about clothing over the period, as the money spent on it declined from 30$ to 20$.
