The Tabe provides information about the number of male and female working in factories between 1851 and 1901 in Germany, along with total of workforce and thenumber of factories. Overall, the number of factory workers plunged obviously while the number of factories experienced a fluctuation.
In 1851, the total number of workforces declined dramatically from 477100 to 291780 in 1861 and continually fell more than a half in 1871. The number of male workers plunged more than a half in first ten years before falling to 80123 in 1871 much more than the female workers who slightly decreased to 1600000 in 1861before plumeting to 60000 in 1871 . The number of factories stabilized in first ten years before soaking three-folds to 622 in 1871.
From 1881, the number of male workers went down from 76132 to 31000, and the same thing happened in female workers and in 1901 the gap of male and female workers was narrowed down to 1000 workers, thanks to the declining of male and female workers, the total of workers still decreased from 126379 to 61000 in 1901. On the one hand, in 1881 the number of factories reached its peak 721 before falling consistently to 600 in 1901.
