At the same time, 9 and 11 year old boys wer more likely to play some sports in comparison with their girl peers, while 13 and 15 year old girls show greater involvement in sport activities, uncovering the fact that boys have a quicker drift from their athletic hobbies as they grow older.
54% boys of 9 years old were involved in some type of physical activity, with the percentage declining as boys grow older and enter puberty. As they reach the age of 15 years old, only 10% of teenage boys is pursuing a sport, which showcases the significant drop of physical activities as they get closer to their adult life.
On the other side, only 49% of 9 year old girls is pursuing a sport. The percentage of young girls being active drops linearly as age increases, with the table reporting that 15% percent of girls of the age of 15 are still involved in a sport activity.
