The table illustrates the proportion of men and women in the workplace in six different sectors in 1993 and 2003. Overall, services and transport had the highest percentage of both men and women in both years, although the proportion of women in this sector decreased noticeably over time. In contrast agriculture saw a clear decline, especially for men, while business and social services increased for both gendres. Notably, building remained dominated by men, whereas women were more common in servise related sectors.
As for higher figures, in 1993, the workforce of the service and transport for females was 53% and this figure fell noticeably to 36% in 2003. As for males, the figure for this experinced a reverse trend, increasing from 22% to 31%. In agriculture, men employees saw a significant decline from 38% to 8% in 2003, while female workforce decreased slightly from 8% to 6%. In terms of manufacturing, in 2003, the percentage of female workers dropped 25% to 12%, after which the male gender improved from 16% to 17% in this category.
As for lower figures, in business, the percentage of both males and females were lower ones among other sectors. The former was 7% and the letter was only 1% in 1993 and these figures experienced a sharp growth with 25% and 22%, respectively in 2003. In social services, the female staff rate rose from13% to 18%, while the trend for opposite gender grew from 5% to 9%. In building sectors, no women worked 1993, whereas men personnels was 12% and this was followed by a rose in both genders accounting for 6% and 10%, respectively.
