The given table illustrates the proportion of the population living in the four different housing types among the three areas of a city.
From an overall perspective, detached houses were the most preferred in Central Area, whereas Flats/Apartments were common in Green Park Area and terraced homes dominated Southberg Area. Furthermore, it is of note that semi-detached houses were relatively prevalent in Central Area, while this type of house remained negligible in the other two regions.
Looking at the table for more details, one can see that, flat/apartment was the most preferred in Green Park Area, taking up 76%, nearly three times as high as that in Southberg Area and leaving a wide margin with Central Area. Meanwhile, terraced homes dominated in Southberg Area, with 56% of the population living in this type, which was quadruple the figure for Green Park Area and approximately triple that in Central Area.
Regarding the remaining housing types, semi-detached houses were relatively prevalent in Central Area, with 28% of citizens residing in this type. It is also noteworthy that there was a parity between Green Park Area and Southberg Area, standing at exactly 5%. Central area also recorded the highest proportion of the population in detached houses (at 39%), whilst only 5% of residents lived in this housing type in Green Park Area, accounting for around one-third of the figure for Southberg Area.
