The table illustrates the percentage of women and men who rode bicycles in the same city by different age (0-9, 10-19, 20-39, 40-59, 60+) in one year (2012). Overall, the percentage of women riding bicycles smoothly declined with age, but rose slightly in old age. However, the percentage of men riding bicycles sharply decreased from age 0-9 to 20-39, nevertheless also slightly increased in the 60+ age group.
Firstly, 52.5% of women in the age group between 0-9 rode bicycles, but the percentage sharply declined in the age group 20-39 and stayed at 18.2%. The figure also slightly decreased, but after that, in elderly age, the popularity of women who rode bicycles slightly increased and stayed at 19.8%.
However, the percentage of men riding bicycles at the beginning was a bit smaller than that of women, at 51.2%, but in the age group 10-19 decreased slightly more than twice and stayed at 25.1%. Then, it sharply decreased to 9.3% in the age group 20-39. And, the same as with women, the percentage of men riding bicycles rose to 14.6% in old age.
