The table depicts the proportion of female and male who employed in four different sectors, (Catering, Banking Manufacturing industry, and Education), across the years 1986, 1996, and 2006 in a particular country.
Overall, while women generally had higher percentage in Education, the figure for men in manufacturing industry steadly declined. Both genders saw gradual increase in banking sector, and the catering sector remained relatively stable for women, but slightly rose for men.
In 1986, the employment rate of female in education was 33%, is double than that of males. Then this figure increased to 35% in 1996 and 38% in 2006, making education most attracted sector for women. In contrast, men who worked in education showed minor changes, where the number increased from 13% to 15%. For catering, 26% of women were employed throughout the period, while the proportion of men rose from 16% to 22% in 1996, and remained its percantage in 2006.
In manufacturing, male employment began with just under a third in 1986, but dropped significantly to 21% in 1996 and 17% in 2006. Regarding the rate of female employment in this sector was 18% in 1986, this figure declined to 12% in 1996 and 6% in 2006, being least popular sector among females. The banking showed steady growth for both genders. Men rose from 11% to 21%, while women increased from 12% to 19% between 1986 and 2006.
