The table illustrates the percentage weight of individuals in one country between 1999 and 2009.
Overall, it is evident that while the percentage of women with underweight and overweight saw an increase, the percentage of underweight and normal weight men also increased over the period. Furthermore, the percentage of normal weight men and women both reached the same percent in 2009.
In terms of normal weight, in 1999, women with normal weight started with 49%, the highest percent among all three categories, and 8% higher than that of men, at 41%. Despite some fluctuations, women and men reached the same percentage, at 47 by 2009, marking this as the highest percentage for each group.
In terms of underweight and overweight, both men and women experienced a similar increasing trend, at 23% and 28%, respectively. However, the opposite was true for overweight. In other words, while the percentage of women with overweight rose minimally, at 19%, the percentage for men saw a plunge, matching that of women, at 19%.
