The chart illustrates how water is utilized for various purposes in four different countries: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, and Canada. Overall, Egypt and Saudi Arabia consumed the majority of their water resources for agriculture, while New Zealand and Canada primarily used their water for industrial purposes. Additionally, the figures for domestic water use were consistently the lowest in all countries except Canada.
In terms of domestic water usage, Egypt and Saudi Arabia have similar rates, accounting for 8% and 6% of their total water consumption, respectively. For industrial use, Saudi Arabia comprised 30% of total consumption, which was three times higher than the figure for Egypt. In contrast, Egypt utilized 82% of its water for agriculture, which is slightly more than the 64% used for that purpose in Saudi Arabia.
In Canada, the percentage of water used for domestic purposes was twice as high as that in New Zealand, at 20% compared to New Zealand’s 10%. For industrial purposes, Canada’s figure exceeded New Zealand’s by 24%. The proportion of water used for agriculture in New Zealand was 44%, which is more than four times that of Canada.
