Overall, for domestic use and industry purposes, Canada has the highest proportion of water spent on these while Egypt has the opposite figure. However, the figure for Egypt on agriculture purposes is the highest and Canada takes the lowest.
Looking at the table in more detail, in Canada, domestic water use accounts for 20 percentage of the total water expenditure while the figure for the others are under or equal 10 percent. Regarding the industry purposes, there is 70 percent of water used for this in Canada, which was around 24% higher and above doubles than New Zealand and Saudi Arabia respectively, meanwhile, the figure for Egypt is just only 10 percent.
Regarding the remaining categories, water is used mainly for agriculture in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, at 82% and 64% of total water uses, in that order. Beyond that, the figure for New Zealand is 44% which is fourfold than that for Canada.
