The chart illustrates how water is utilized for various purposes in four different countries namely Egypt, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and Canada. Overall, Egypt and Saudi Arabia consumed the majority of water resources to agriculture while New Zealand and Canada did so for industrial purposes. Moreover, the figure for water served for domestic use was always the lowest except Canada.
The water used for domestic purposes is almost the same in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, accounting for 8% and 6% respectively. For industry aim, the figure for Saudi Arabia made up 30% of total water’s consumption, which was three times higher than that of Egypt. The percentage for Egypt accounted for 82% of water used for agriculture, slightly larger than that for Saudi Arabia (64%).
The percentage of water used for domestic in Canada was twice as much as that in New Zealand (20% compared to 10%). For industry purpose, the figure for Canada was higher than New Zeland by 24%. The proportion of water used for agriculture in New Zealand was 44%, which is more than four times that of Canada.
