Meanwhile, the 16-24 age group showed the most dramatic jump, growing from just 4% to 15%. In contrast, the 25-35 age group, which was the largest in 1981 at 50%, saw a significant drop to 32% in 2015, indicating that fewer people in this age range traveled to Spain compared to the past.
On the other hand, the percentage of travelers aged 35-45 decreased considerably from 22% in 1981 to only 12% in 2015, reflecting a decline in middle-aged visitors. Nevertheless, the expansion of older tourists (55+) growth from 16% to 25%, making it the second-largest group in 2015.
