Not just voluntary-controlled schools, grammar schools and specialist schools also experienced a rapid decline, although not as big as voluntary-controlled schools.
On the other hand, community schools have experienced rapid development from year to year, from the initial 12% in 2000 to 58% in 2009.
Overall, these trends indicate a shift in educational preferences or policies that is leading to increased participation in Community Schools and decreased participation in other types of schools.
