The table illustrates views of UK residents regarding the sectors that require more investment.
Overall, most of the men were inclining towards education and women wanted government to increase investment is health sector. However different age groups had different priorities.
To begin with gender wise views, 32% of the men wanted government to spend more on health compared to 48% women. The percentage of men who wanted more development in education sector was 55% and for women, it was only 40%. A mere 12% and 13% of men and women prioritized other areas over health and education.
Furthermore, the percentage of people from age group of 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65+ who thought that government should spend more in other areas are 35%, 13%, 26%, 25%, 30% and 16%, respectively. A higher percentage of people aged 18-34 wanted more education friendly budget, 40% from 18-24 and more than half from 25-34. The rest age groups were more inclined towards health almost half of the people from 35-44, 45-54, and 55-64 though that government should increasing spending on health sector. Meanwhile, 72% people aged 65+ were in favor of investing in health sector.
