The table provides information regarding the change in percentage of female employees in the Hollywood industry in years 1994 and 2003.
Overall the proportion of women working in different fields changed in varying degrees. The number of female producers and directors both decreased by a significant amount while the number of females working as costume designers, editors and writers had increased.
The percentage of females working as designers accounted for the highest percentage of 74.2% in 1994 and 76.1% in 2003. Other jobs like editors and writers also underwent a slight increase, 11.4% to 14% and 10% to 12% respectively. Both jobs experienced a similar percentage increase of 20% over the decade.
On the other hand, women in directors remained the lowest percentage among the five jobs, 5% in 1994 and a slight dip to 3.0% in 2003. Meanwhile, the amount of women producers followed the same trend, a decrease of 34% can be witnessed( 15.6% to 10.3%).
