The given table illustrates the percentage of three kinds of students in six different faculties at an Australian university in 2009.
Overall, major of students were favor in modern languages. However, history has the lowest proportion of non-indigenous English students, while this figure is chemistry in female students.
Look at the first column more clearly, it can be seen that English was the priority of female undergraduates with nearly 70%, followed by modern languages with 4% lower. Conversely, female students seemed to less concern in science subject such as physics and chemistry, took 37% and 29%, respectively.
In term of first language, modern languages had the highest ratio of students whose English was not mother tongue, approximately 41%. In contrast, these students majored in history with only 10%.
The last group depicts the same trend as the second group. Modern language was still attracted by students who born outside Australia with 54%, followed by Chemistry and Physics, while history was at the bottom of 18%, after English.
