The table illustrates the change in percentage of the population aged 65 and up in three different countries ( Canada, Germany, and UK ) from the year 1988 to 2030.
Overall, it can be observed that from three countries, the population of elderly (age 65 and above) had increase throughout the decade. With UK holding the lowest population number, followed by Canada and finally Germany being the highest.
In the early decades, between 1988 and 2000, UK doesn’t show a significant change, with the percentage of 14,23 in 1988 and 14,89 in 2000 which showed that it only rose about 0,66. However, the table predicts that the population of senior citizens will grow quite rapidly in the year 2030 with the numbers of population reaching 20,35.
It is shows that in Germany and Canada both countries had a stable growth in the fraction of old people from 1988 to 2000 and it is to be predicted that the growing trend will continue going up until the year 2030. With Germany changing from 20,45 to 30,42, and Canada goes from 16,32 to 26,35.
