Overall, the number of universities that were above the 200 position in three surveyed subjects in the USA were largest, whereas the New Zealand’s figure showed an inverse trend. Notably, biological field had the largest number of ranked 200 universities in five mentioned nations, apart from Australia and New Zealand, where psychology dominated.
Regarding the USA, this country had 69 univerisites in top 200 in biological field, which were followed by psychology and medicine, both being lower than that of biology by 10 universities. In the UK, the figure for biological’s ranked 200 universities was also the largest, and equal to those in the USA by around a half. Similar to the USA, this subject was also trailed by psychology and medicine, which were recorded at 29 and 24 universities. New Zealand also showed a comparable trend, with the highest belonging to biology and being higher than psychology and medicine by 4 and 2 universities each.
In both Australia and Canada, 9 top-200 universities were belong to biology and lower than medicine by more than 3 universities. Meanwhile, psychology was the subject that had the largest figure in these countries, having 17 and 14 universities, respectively.
