The table illustrates the share of the women workers in the parliamentary and managerial roles in 5 different countries, Canada, Uruguay, Italy, Norway, Tobaga and Trinidad, in the year of 2000
Overall, parliamentary roles of all these 5 countries were all male- dominated, and this pattern was seen in the management positions, except Canada and Italy where women outnumbered the men.
Female representation was low across the parliaments of all these countries. Only in Norway and Canada had the parliaments where more than the quarter of the roles were occupied by the woman, the figure for Canadian parliament stood at 28% and that for the Norwegian parliament was at 36%.Folowed by the Trinidad and Tobago, the percentage of the female workers was half that of Norway. While, In Uruguay and Italy it was even lower, at only 8% and 10%, respectively.
Women were better represented in the managerial positions than in the parliamentary positions across all countries, with a slight majority in Italy (54%) and Norway(52%). Although women managers did not form a majority in Trinidad and Tobago at 40% and 37% in Uruguay and Canada they better represented in the management roles.
