The table illustrates the market portion, in percentage, that different companies have for the notebook computer in 2006 and 2007. Overall, HP is the leading supplier of this product in both years with its share percentage increasing. Siemens continued have the smallest market share, followed by Lenovo and Toshiba.
Firsly, HP’s market share went up with 3.6% from 2006 to 2007. Similarly, Dell and Toshiba went up with 3.4% and 1% respectively in that year. In the contrary, Acer and Lenovo dropped slighly from 11.6% to 10.7% and 6.6% to 6.2% seperately. Siemans dropped from 4.8% to 2.3% and remains the smallest contributor of this computer for both years.
On the other hand, the portion dedicated to other suppliers have dropped from 22.8% to 19.3%. Although Dell and Toshiba have gone up in percentage, HP remains the leader in this field with almost a third of the market share in 2007.
