The table charts depict how many coffee and banana products was sold in UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden in years 1999 and 2004. Sales made by these countries were measured in million euros in both years.
Overall, all European countries’ sailing ratio increased over the period given. Additionally, UK was the greatest sailor of banana in both periods.
In terms of Fairtrade-labelled coffee, UK increased dramatically from 1.5 million euros in 1999 to 20 million euros in 2004, while other countries showed marginal growth. For instance, Denmark sold 1.8 million euros coffee drinks and jumped to only 2 million in 2004. Similarly, Belgium added 7 thousand euros to its sales in 2004 (1.7 million euros).
On the other hand, with regard to banana sales, UK saw rise again but more considerable, which constituted 15 million in 1999 and it went up to 20. Although, Sweden took second place in 1999 with 2 million euros sales, it dropped to 1.9 and became the smallest sailor in 2004 comparing to other five countries.
