The tables present data on the consumption and production of wheat across five different regions in 2010, measured in kilograms per person and million tonnes.
Overall, Europe recorded the highest wheat consumption per capita, while Africa had the lowest in both categories. In terms of production, Asia produced the largest amount of wheat overall.
Regarding wheat consumption, Europe ranked first with 85.2 kg per person. North America followed with 67.4 kg per person, which was significantly higher than the figures for Asia (29.3 kg) and South and Central America (27.5 kg). Africa registered the lowest consumption at only 19.7 kg per person.
Looking at total wheat production, Asia was the top producer with 188.5 million tonnes. Europe was the second largest producer, generating 150.6 million tonnes, followed by North America with 60.7 million tonnes. On the other hand, South and Central America produced 20.5 million tonnes, while Africa produced the lowest amount at 18.3 million tonnes
