This diagram depicts the collections of rainwater and the treatment to make it as a drinkable water in an Australian town.
Overall, there are five stages of rainwater harvesting has shown from collecting to filtering to storing to treating with some chemicals.
Initially, in the roof of the buildings the rainwater is garnered through drainage pipes from each house. All those drainage pipes pass are connected to a water filtration tank to underground storage. Secondly, before, reaching the reservoir, the garnered water is filtered through a water filtration tank to remove particles, sand and other alien materials. And, thirdly, it has been stored in underground storage tank.
Then, all the stored water goes to a final stage, water treatment. Here, the collected rainwater from the reservoir are stored in a tank to be processed with some chemical to make it drinkable. Finally, it circles back to the houses as a refresh and purified drinkable water.
