In the pie chart, 48% of respondents stated work opportunities as their primary motivation to migrate. A better lifestyle came second at 23%. Study and family together formed just over a quarter, each accounted for 15% and 11%, respectively. Adventure was marginal at just 3%. Thus, the top two reasons combined represented over 70% of all responses, far outweighing education and family combined.
Turning to quality-of-life, the bar chart shows that Australia and Sweden tied for first on 9.1/10. Canada and USA followed on 8.5/10 and 8.1/10, respectively. Switzerland scored at 7.5/10 and the UK ranked last at 7.1/10. The overall spread was approximately at two points, from 7.0 to 9.1.
In sum, reasons for migration was overwhelmingly work-driven and countries with the highest quality-of-life ratings were Australia and Sweden, while the UK left behind the rest.
