The diagram illustrates how a town called Dalton changed between 1815 and 2015.
Overall, the town underwent a number of significant changes, the most important of which was the process of industrialization with the removal of forest for accommodations and the addition of education and healthcare infrastructures.
The left side of a tributary of the River Dal at the bottom of the map used to be a Dalton forest but the woods were cut down to make way for houses in the north west of the town and a hospital adjacent to the small branch with a few trees. In the southwestern part of the map, an industrial zone with three main facilities was added next to the river and the Bridgeway was converted into a large new bridge.crossing all areas.
Turning to the right side, almost all trees near the tributary were also chopped down to build more houses nearby and an airport was constructed opposite to the industries. In addition, the Hall Farm raising cattle including cows and horses was removed to facilitate the development of school and accommodations. The Dalton in the north east of the map was moved next to the small branch of the river with the relocation of the Dalton Hall. A hotel was erected right in the eastern part of the town with the expansion of houses near the River Dal.
