The diagrams illustrate the comparison of pollutants in a specific portion of the ocean in the years 1997 and 2007. The factors of pollution are air, domestic sewage, offshore oil, marine litter, farm waste, and industrial waste, respectively.
Overall, charts show that air pollution was common in both years; however, there was an increase in domestic sewage from 18 to 29%. While there was a significant rise in offshore oil from 1997 to 2007, with 5 to 14%. In contrast, farm and industrial waste has been reduced considerably.
The proportion of air pollution did not change much in both years. Surprisingly, the pollution due to litter had declined to zero percent. However, domestic sewage and offshore oil pollution saw a dominant increase in the proportion of pollution. In contrast, the pollution due to marine and industrial waste declined at a significant rate. Farm waste contributed less pollution and reduced from 4 to 2%.
